Language Discrimination in Chinese

语言是人际交流的重要工具,是一种社会思想文化的承载体,必然因其赖以产生的文化土壤的差异和所承载的政治、经济、历史与习俗等文化因子的差异而产生某种优劣感,体现出某种“优势语言”对“劣势语言”的歧视与偏见,这就是所谓语言中的歧视性问题。语言的歧视既是一种语言现象,也是一种复杂的社会文化现象,它在特定的社会语境的影响与作用下产生,必将随着社会语境的改变而发生变异。

Language is not only an important tool for communication, but also the carrier of social culture and thinking. It is a fact that differences in cultural factors, such as politics, economy, history, convention and so on, have caused the discrimination in language. Language discrimination is a language phenomenon, and also an involved social culture phenomenon. Since it is caused by the influence of given social context, it will vary with the change of the social context.
