科学技术是蕴涵着价值的社会事业。科学技术的正面价值包括物质文明价值、精神文明价值、政治文明价值、生态文明价值和社会变革价值等 ;科学技术负面价值既表现在对物质文明的损害 ,又表现在对精神文明的危害。实现对科学技术价值的合理利用 ,应树立科技、经济、社会与环境和人类自身的大协调发展观 ,建立科学技术运用的社会控制机制 ,实现人与自然之间关系的协调、科技发展与人的协调、人与人之间关系的协调以及人。

The positive values of science and technology include values of materialistic, political, ecological, social transformational civilizations, and so on; the negative values are not only revealed in the harm done to the materialistic civilization, but also that to the spiritual civilization. In order to make sound use of the values of science and technology, it is necessary to establish a view that science and technology, economy, society, environment and human beings themselves are in a harmonious development, build a mechanism of social control to apply science and technology, and realize the harmony between human and nature, scientific and technological development and human, individuals and a synthetic harmony between human, nature and society.
