From Single Semantic Perspective to Plural Semantic Perspectives of History:The Historical Reflection on Chinese Modern Literary Studies

本文对中国现代文学学科历史进行反思 ,认为中国现代文学研究五十年的方法论失误在于 :我们总是力图建构某种一元本体论的学科理念与叙述架构 ,从而以绝对理念裁决历史。本文认为 ,中国现代文学研究应该从“绝对理念”的逻辑建构与历史裁判法转向历史解释学 ,建立一种以现代文化价值为基点、以“现代中国文学”为坐标、以中西文化 (文学 )为经纬。

This essay aims to reflect historically on Chinese Modern Literature as a discipline. It traces the methodological mistakes we made in 50 years’ studies of Chinese Modern Literature to the fact that we always try to construct a unitary ontology in both disciplinary idea and narrative framework so as to judge history according to an absolute idea. It argues that modern Chinese literary studies should reorient itself from the logical construction of “absolute idea” and historical judgment to historical hermeneutics, opening an open-ended interpretive space for literary history based on the value of modern literature, coordinated by Chinese Modern Literature, mediated by Chinese and Western cultures and literatures, and finally, methodologically controlled by literary aesthetics.
