Informal communication has been existing for a long time,but it doesn't show good vital- ity until the advent of web times.This article discusses the rise of informal communication and the con- cept of informal information exchange in a networking environment,and proposes that whether information professionals participate or not be taken as a line drawn between formal and informal communication.It also made an analysis of the types and features of informal communication in a networking environment
