On the Decline of Political Novels of the Republic of China and Writers' Struggle

民初政治小说退潮是由多方面因素造成的 ,既有外部的政治环境变化 ,小说的商业化压力 ,也有小说家自己改变了晚清对小说功能的看法。但民初的小说家仍在抗争 。

The reasons of the political novels' decline at the beginning of the Republic of China are due to many factors of which external factors as the changing of the political milieu and the pressure of the merchandise of novels and the internal factors as the novelists changing their views on novel's function are obvious. Although the novels are on decline, the novelists are still in struggle, which forms the unique characteristics of the novels of the Republic of China.
