摘要
文章分析了汉英习语的喻体及其联想效果上存在对应的关系。在喻体和联想效果不对等的关系中 ,汉英习语中有的喻体相同 ,但具有不同的联想效果 ;而有的喻体不同 ,却具有相同的联想效果。汉英习语间联想意义的不对等、不等值是常见的 ,因此 ,在理解或翻译时 ,要特别慎重 。
This article is a contrastive study of Chinese and English idioms in their images and associative meanings. The comparison is made in three categories: overlapping on both image and associative meaning, correspondence in image but non-correspondence in associative meaning and vacancy in either image or associative meaning with the emphasis on the third category.
