屈原和毛泽东是中国古代和现代两位开一代诗风,颇有影响的浪漫主义诗人,他们都享受着湘楚风物的滋育,深受湘楚文化的影响。屈原《离骚》等作品,从思想内容到艺术形式,哺育了一代又一代的众多作家;毛泽东的诗词是对屈赋的继承和超越,他的《蝶恋花·答李淑一》等作品,开拓了一条用古典形式反映现代生活的新道路。

Qu Yuan and Mao Zedong are two great romantic poets in ancient and modern China respectively, who all had deeply been influenced by the culture of 'Chu' and 'Xiang'. Mao Zedong's poetry had inherited the characters of Qu Yuan's and even exceeded Qu Yuan, as the saying goes 'Mao Zedong's Poetry had moved the whole world and Official Qu's prose and verse had started the 'Chu' style. Poems by Mao Zedong carved out a new approach to the reflection of modern life in the classic style.
