摘要
介词在其空间概念的基础上通过隐喻性映射发展了介词的多义性,从而产生了大量丰富多彩的隐喻含义。从认知角度来探讨介词意义多元性的理据对英语教学,尤其是词汇教学具有重要的指导意义。
Prepositions develop their polysemy on the basis of their spatial concepts by metaphorical mapping, which produces abundant colorful metaphorical meanings of the prepositions. To study the motivations of the prepositional polysemy from the cognitive perspective will be of course meaningful to ELT, especially to the teaching of the vocabulary.
