To Find Nation-State in Myth: A Review of Myth and the Society of China

神话作为一种话语形态,对统合民众观念有着深厚的影响力,在一定历史时期对社会建构起着相当关键的作用。民族-国家虽然是近现代的概念,但民族和国家却是由来已久的历史现象。因此在历史上就有种种整合民族和国家的举措,神话是其中一种形式,为历朝统治者所重视。

As a discourse, myth has great influence in integrating the idea of the mass, and plays very important role in constructing society in certain era. The concept of nation-state emerged as a notion lately, but nation and state are historical phenomena which have long history. Thus myth, which was one of the measures to integrate nation and state, was stressed highly by the rulers in every dynasty.
