This paper describes a specific event in the process of translation --- to decode the source language text. It argues that in order to get the 'value' of the text more than the 'significance' of the text, the translators and translation theorists should study and explore the strategical decoding approaches for the source language text and suggests that there are some decoding approaches valid in efficient accounting of meanings of the text and intentions of the text's author.
