Effect of the 1929-1933 capitalist economic crisis on China's rural areas

1929-1933年资本主义经济危机中,西方各国采用关税、货币、倾销等政策限制我国农产品的输入,增加输出剩余农产品,引起中国农产品价格的暴跌,导致1932-1935年空前的农业大萧条。而中国农业生产力水平的低下,农民缺乏规避风险的能力和政府应对措施的不当是中国农村深受经济危机影响的主要原因。

During the 1929-1933 capitalist economic crisis, western countries imposed great restrictions on China's export of agricultural products by means of tariff, currency and dumping goods in China, etc. And meanwhile they expanded China's import of their surplus agricultural products, which resulted in the dramatic fall in the prices of China's domestic agricultural products and led to the unprecedented agricultural depression during 1932-1935. Low level of China's agricultural productive forces, farmers' lack of the sense of risk and the inadequate counter-measures of the government to this crisis were the major reasons that the capitalist economic crisis affected China's rural areas.
