敦煌曲子词是由文人创作的律词,在词调、格律、音乐和风格等方面与唐五代词和宋词都存在相承与发展的关系,奠定了后世词体的基本走向,为词体起源提供了新的可靠的依据。由于特定的历史原因,它的某些特性未为花间词继承,却在宋词里得到发扬光大。
