启蒙是人类改造自然的文明活动,是旨在祛除某种神秘的、幻象的世界表象而进行的一系列理智的和实践的操作。即用科学的、综合的、工具的理性来控制自然。阿多诺展开对启蒙的反思,揭露了启蒙精神的异化,即启蒙理性在提高人类对自然界统治能力的同时,也演变成了另一种神话,是对人类的新奴役。
Enlightenment is a civilized activity of remoulding the would and a rational practice of getting rid of the mystique of the world. That is, to control nature by science and reason. Adoron reflected over enlightenment and exposed the isolation of the spirit of enlightenment. Enlightenment enhanced the capacity of human beings to control nature, but at the same time, it became mythology to enslave human beings.
