黄遵宪的《日本国志》填补了近代中国日本资料方面的空白,进一步开阔了中国人的眼界,使其视野真正定位于整个世界。他在书中第一次明确提出学习日本维新改革的政治主张,启蒙了中国人的思想,提供了一个救国的尝试性处方,成为中国维新变法的催化剂。

The History of Japan,written by Huang Zunxian in Qing Dynasty,filled the blank of information about Japan,and it also widened the field of vision of Chinese people and made them look at the whole world. In this book he firstly put forward a political opinion of learning from Japanese reformation,which enlightened Chinese people and offered an experiment prescription to save the nation. It became the catalyst of China political reform.
