On the Commonalities of Athenian Democracy and Conception of US General Election

雅典民主是古代民主的颠峰,美国大选是直观展示美国民主制度的最好政治舞台。二者民主理念的共性有:(1)没有完美无缺的神和圣人是民主的基石;(2)法治是民主制度的保障;(3)由于突出个性,民主制度的实践向来闹热。

While Athenian democracy was the zenith of ancient democracy, the US general election is the best political stage for showing its democracy system. There are three commonalities between them: 1. both of them are without perfect god and saints, which are the cornerstone for democracy; 2. both are under the safeguard of the law; 3. both attach importance to practice.
