This paper designs the structure and database of a PDM prototype system, studies the function and data memory model of the database management system, then builts the basic frame of the prototype system. The process model of the approval flow is built by defining its operations. The integrated solution is put forward based on researching the integrated interface between CAD and PDM systems, and the integration between PDM and Proe2001 that is one of the CAD system is realized.
