On the First "Japan - ROK Preparatory Talks' after World War Ⅱ

第二次世界大战以后,未能参加《对日和平条约》之签署的韩国,为解决日韩两国之间存在的悬案,在美国的斡旋下同日本举行了“日韩预备会谈”。现从韩国成立到日韩会谈前的两国关系的发展、日韩预备会谈以及日韩“预备会谈”的成果及会谈中暴露的问题三个方面加以论述,从中不难看出,由于日韩双方的利益对立以及双方都对会谈缺乏诚意和热情,使“预备会谈”未能取得美国所期待的结果。

To tackle the unsettled issue, the ROK, which did not participate in signing'Japanese Peace Treaty' , holds 'Japan - ROK Preparatory Talks'with Japan through the USA's mediation after the Second World War. The article expounds on three aspects including the relationship between the ROK and Japan from the founding of the ROK to the eve of the talks, Japan - ROK preparatory talks, as well as the result of the talks and the problems exposed. Due to their opposite interests and lack of sincere desire, the preparatory talks fail to achieve the result expected by the USA.
