Situated southwest of Qingyang County in Anhui province, Jiuhua Shan, also known as the Nine Brilliant Mountains is one of China's four famous sacred Buddhist Mountains. The mountain was formed in the late Cenozoic Era, and became a Buddhist Mountain in the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420-589). It is said in history that a Korean aristocrat, Jin Qiaojue, came to the mountain and lived in a cave at Dongya peak. His hard practice moved the local people so much that they decided to build
