习语是历史文化的沉淀 ,是人们认识自然、改造自然过程中久经实践应用约定俗成而又广泛流传的简约、精炼、精辟而又极致的表达方式。民族的才是世界的。习语是最具民族个性的语言 ,是民族文化底蕴最深 ,流传最广 ,最喜闻乐见的表达人们思想情感的语言形式。文章就习俗在各民族或群体文化中的角色、与文化的密切关系以及在外语教学中的跨文化交际作用做了分析。

Idioms are such a large part in each language that we have no reason to neglect them. Each idiom means more than its literal meaning. We can feel great thoughts and culture of a nation's in idioms. To reach intercultural communication, idioms can't be overlooked. Language teaching not only means lexical and grammatical studies, but pramatic and intercultural application.
