摘要
针对交流等离子体显示器中的常规误差扩散方法因误差扩散系数固定导致反映图像细节轮廓损失的问题,提出了一种基于边缘检测的动态误差扩散方法.该方法在对每个像素的误差扩散处理过程中,先沿误差扩散方向进行边缘检测,再根据边缘检测结果动态地选择误差扩散系数组及调整各个方向的误差扩散系数,使得误差扩散系数与轮廓特征相关,减小了误差扩散过程中造成图像细节轮廓损失的累积误差.仿真结果表明,将新方法应用于交流等离子体显示器中,不仅能够减少因较少子场引起的假轮廓,同时还可以避免由于常规误差扩散方法中固定误差扩散系数引起的轮廓细节损失.
In conventional error diffusion method applied to the alternating current plasma display panel (AC PDF), all directions' error diffusion coefficients are fixed all the time, which leads to the loss of image detail contour. A dynamic error diffusion method based on edge detection was proposed, in which the edge detection of each pixel is executed firstly along the four error diffusion directions in error diffusion process, and then the error diffusion coefficient group and the error diffusion coefficients of each direction are dynamically adjusted according to the result of edge detection. The dynamic error diffusion method makes the error diffusion coefficients coincide with the characteristic of image contour; it decreases the accumulated error generated in error diffusion process, which results in the loss of the image detail contour. Simulation shows that both the false contours caused by less subfields and the loss of contour details caused by the fixed error diffusion coefficients in conventional error diffusion method are decreased effectively, when applying the new method to the image processing of AC PDF.
