On the Political Influence of the Parties during the Reign of Emperor Kangxi

康熙时期的朋党主要有鳌拜党、明珠党、索额图党、皇子党等,由于康熙的高超的政治艺术,对朋党危害的清醒认识和高度防范,处置朋党问题也比较适当,因此,康熙朝虽有朋党的存在,但无激烈党争,亦无党祸。

During the Emperor Kangxi's reign, there were parties such as Aobai Party, Mingzhu Party, Suo'etu Party, and the Party of princes. However, because of Kangxi's brilliant political art, his clear awareness and special prevention of the danger of parties' contest, and his proper measures to it, there was no serious contest between these parties, neither disaster from this contest, despite of the existence of parties.
