In western epics,from the earliest Homer's Odyssey,Virgil's Anead,Dante's Divine Comedy to Milton's Paradise Lost.The description of the nether world was enlarged to inferno,purgatory and paradise.There is an inherent relation of continuation and development in it.Like a small ditch,with the imagination of the poets and the coming of new cultures,western epic becomes a big river in literary history.
