人类文化的发展规律,是继承与发展的统一。建构和发展当代中国先进文化,必须以马克思主义为指导,牢牢把握先进文化的前进方向,与时俱进;必须继承和发扬中华民族的优秀文化传统,大力弘扬和培育民族精神,为今所用;必须着眼于世界文化发展的前沿,积极吸收外国文化的先进成果,为我所用;必须立足于建设中国特色社会主义的伟大实践,充分体现时代精神和创造精神,积极创新。
