The Difference Between Modes of Thinking and its Influence on Language Communications

文化、思维、语言与交往方式具有密不可分的联系,在文化的诸多因素中,思维方式的差异是影响跨文化交际最重要的因素;东方思维具有整体、直觉、具象、归纳的特点,西方思维具有分析、逻辑、抽象、演绎的特点,东西方思维方式的不同特征在英汉语言上表现出各自的表述方式的不同,所以在语言学习和交往中有意识地从文化的角度养成多向思维方式十分有益。

Cross-cultural communication is influenced by many cultural factors such as culture, thinking, language and mode of communication, especially by mode of thinking. While Eastern thinking features wholeness, intuition, specification and inducing, Western thinking features analysis, logicalness, abstraction and deduction. It is very important for Chinese students to develop multi-modes of thinking in their language learning and language communication.
