大学英语的TEFL特质再探

A New Probe into TEFL as a College Course

中国大学英语教学在本质上是TEFL,虽然和TESL一样同属于SLA范畴,但它与TESL是有区别的,这在国内大学英语界内无大争议。但是,关于作为TEFL的中国大学英语教学和TESL之间存在的巨大差异性,我们似尚未认真思考。近几年来大学英语界内交际法与其它教学法(如语法———翻译法)之间发生的抵牾和论争,关于大学英语考试是非功过的论争,以及关于大学英语教学如何继续发展的论争等,其原因之一,可能就是这种巨大差异性所致。我们认为,充分了解TEFL与TESL之间的差异性及其产生的根源,是大学英语教学实践者取得共识,创造一套更加符合中国大学实际的教学法,行之有效地实施教学的基础。

The paper argues that there is not a well-developed consideration of the great difference between TEFL and TESL in terms of college English teaching in China,which may be the main cause for controversy and argument of the choice of teaching methodologies.It is proposed that an effective college english teaching should be on the basis of a serious consideration of the disparity between TEFL and TESL.
