There are 144 new electric power projects under construction in 2004,and power supply industry will be an extremely high growth point in the future.Despite of the high growth rate of the power construction in China, the speed of construction still cannot catch up the increase of demand.Electric power became a 'bottleneck'again. Last year,Chinese government adjusted the electric power development program of the tenth five-year plan.Because according to the plan,all the power plants diven by coal are forbidden in the three years beginning from 1998. The Development Planning Commission of many provinces are taking measures to implement electric power industry adjustment,but the capital investment of electric power projects must be approved by State Development Planning Commission.How to establish the long tem electric development strategy and ensure safety and environmental protection is the next focus in consideration for governmental decision makers.
