摘要
为了满足一些要求比基于帧中继的VPN更高带宽的客户,出现了一种新的业务,即虚拟专用局域网业务(VPLS),它使用IP/MPLS来提供高度可扩展的任意连通性。文中对VPLS的出现以及运营商如何将VPLS部署为部分VPN业务的方法进行探索。
A new service named virtual private LAN service (VPLS)has been created to meet the requirement of those customers who want higher bandwidth than that of FR/ATM based VPNs. Based on IP/MPLS, VPLS supports highly scalable multi-point connectivity. How VPLS emerged and how carriers can implement VPLS as a kind of practical service are discussed.
