For managing the E-mail system availably, the enterprise demand establishing a set of management strategies completely. The Lotus Domino/ Notes is a system bearing the advanced E-mail with the groupware system. It can be used as the applied platform for the enterprise OA (Office Automation) system.At first this paper analyzes the technical requirements of the E-mail system management,then, it explains the problems about the E-mail system management in details, such as E-mail classification and retention, audit, storage, security,e-mail delivery, content filtering, access authorization, denial-of-service prevention and virus control etc., and gives the homologous management strategies. Examples have proved that the management strategies are available and valid.
