Five new paeonol esters were prepared by reacting paeonol with the corresponding acid chloride. Their in vitro antitumor activity against human cancer cell lines were evaluated by MTT assay and colony formation assay. Preliminary biological activity showed that 5 nitro 2 furoic acid paeonol ester 5 is effective against human cancer cells
