General Problems of English Abstract Writing of Sci-tech Periodicals

科技期刊英文摘要必须独立于中文一次文献,直接为非汉语国外读者和科技情报人员及计算机检索系统提供客观的、准确的、且与一次文献基本等量的关键信息,规范的英文摘要必须在准确理解一次文献专业内容的基础上,用合理的词汇、简洁的句型撰写,同时注意时态的简练和(句子)结构的紧凑性。

The English abstract of sci-tech periodicals must be independent of the original Chinese articles for the sake of the objectiveness, accuracy and the key information equivalent to the original articles, which serve for the use of non-Chinese readers, researchers on the sci-tech information and the computer searching systems. The standard English abstract must use appropriate words and brief sentences, based on the accurate understanding of the original technical articles; in the meanwhile, the attention should be paid to the proper use of tense and the density of the whole context.
