The distinctive features about the drama directing theories of Li Yu lie in its systematization. Li Yu discusses the drama directing art in three aspects particularly: the principle in choosing the play, the adaptation of the play, and the guidance of the director to the actor. Strong time spirit, emphasis of the audience and drama practice view could be found in his theories.
