Zong Baihua in the Turning Period: On Zong Baihua's Aesthetics and his Methodology

宗白华的美学精神发端于20世纪初叶中国社会旧文化衰落而新文化萌芽的革命时代。面对时代的困惑与论争,他重新复活了中国古代以周易庄禅诗画为典范的美学精神,研发意境结构,阐发散步美学理论,并以文化批评方法、中西比较方法对转型时代作出回应。

The aesthetic thought of Zong Baihua originated in the revolutionary times in the early 20th century when Chinese old culture declined and the new culture was in germ. Facing the confusion and argument, he resuscitated some aesthetic spirit of ancient China, investigated into the structure of artistic conception, interpreted the paseo aesthetic theory, and answered back the turning period with the cultural criticism and comparison between China and the west.
