摘要
本研究以问卷形式调查了147位英语专业毕业生的学士论文写作情况,结果发现相当数量的调查对象在领会论文要求、查找资料和英语表达方面存在明显的问题;半数以上的人并未从做论文中得到应有的收获。针对这种现状,文章建议加强各科教学中的论文写作训练、把学术论文写作课的教学与学士论文指导相结合、改革和健全评估机制,并由此反思英语专业学科建设,期待更多的宏观指导。
Based on a survey of 147 English major graduates, this study investigates their thesis writing for their BA degree. It shows that a considerable number of the subjects obviously had difficulty understanding thesis requirement, finding references, and expressing complex ideas in formal written English, and that over half of them did not find the writing process rewarding. In view of this situation, the article suggests enhancing research writing practice in all courses, integrating academic writing course with the tutoring of thesis writing, and reforming or amplifying current assessment device. It also reflects on the development of undergraduate English major program, expecting more macroscopic directions.
