Mediator has been successfully applied to the development of distributed information systems, where mediators form the middle tier between client applications and data resources. XML has been used to develop self-describing data models and common interfaces for mediators to be deployed in Web-based information systems. Discussesd design of a secure E-commerce based on XML/Mediator by applying Java Servlets and CORBA. The application results show that such a system, with the support of mediators and XML, is easier to develop, maintain and improve.
