摘要
2 0世纪美国最重要的作家之一威廉·福克纳在美国文学和世界文学中坚不可摧的地位在很大程度上得益于他独特的文体。《喧哗与骚动》(1 92 9)是作者最喜爱的小说 ,标志着他小说文体的成熟。本文就《喧哗与骚动》中特有的“多角度叙述”和“冗长句”等独特的文体特征进行探讨 ,以期更好地解读和欣赏这一经典名著。
The important role William Faulkner played in American literature and the world literature as a whole is to some extent determined by his stylistic idiosyncrasies. The Sound and the Fury (1929) was Faulkner's favourite and it represented the maturity of his fictional style. This paper attempts to study two of Faulkner's most idiosyncratic stylistic features in The Sound and the Fury: 'multi-narration' and 'lengthy sentences'. It is hoped that a better understanding and appreciation of the novel can be achieved through the analysis.
