In Lin Bai抯 text, authenticity and imagination co-exists and blends. This technique of description makes her novel full of symbolic meaning and linguistic beauty. Meanwhile, the significance of utilizing this technique does not only lie on the aspect of technique itself. It also acts on the text , the author and readers respectively and bridges the gap among them. As to the text, the blending of authenticity with imagination brings tension to the novel; the symbolic and fable-like atmosphere in the events brought by the essence and authenticity of traditional means has been eliminated by the changing of ornaments. As to the author, Lin Bai has re-constructed a history of female in contrast to the ordinary conventions by using the blending of authenticity with imagination; she has jumped out of the viewing angle of an individualist and extended the concept of ego to the level of the whole group of female. As to the reader, Lin Bai inspires the reader to make conjectures on the truth behind the event by an incompletely frank and incompletely hiding gesture; this gesture not only contains the curiosity on the truth itself but also the willing to explore the symbolic index behind the variable text. The changing of ornaments in authenticity and imagination should not only be considered as showing off of skills, but also the only way to the symbolic center.
