A Cultural Consideration of the Hundred Years' Chinese Language Education

摘要 20世纪是中国现代语文教育创建发展的时期,在一大批人文精英的努力下,语文建设取得了巨大成就。语文教育的改革不纯是一门学科在教育层面的改革,它涉及到一个民族的文化和精神。百年语文的发展过程就是东西方文化不断碰撞融合的过程。西方的教育思想(包括前苏联)对中国教育的影响甚大,如班级授课制、语法体系的构建、拼音文字的倡导、教育理论的模仿照搬、课堂教学模式的探索等。20世纪末,东方义符文字与西方音符文字教育理念的矛盾在深层产生碰撞,爆发了一场论争。20世纪初、末,大批人文精英的参与,形成百年语文两道亮丽的风景线。 The 20th century was the time when the education of modern Chinese language started to establish and develop.The construction of Chinese language education made great achievements in the efforts of many literate elites.The reform of Chinese language education is not only the reform concerning education level,but also concerning the national culture and spirit. The development procedure of the hundred years' Chinese language education is the conflicting and mingling procedure between the Eastern and Western cultures.The Western educational ideas (including the one in the former Soviet Union) had such great influence on the education in China as the Class Teaching System,the Construction of Grammar System, the Proposition of Phonetic Words,the Imitation and Transfer of Educational Theories, the Research on Class Teaching Patterns, etc. At the end of the 20th century, there existed a deep conflict between the Eastern characters and Western words,which resulted in a debate over the educational ideas.With the participation of many literate elites at the beginning and end of the 20th century,there appeared two beautiful views in the hundred years' Chinese language education field.
