Nationalism is ones of the important social thought in the contemporary era, and also the important theme in the narrative. Through the case study of Red River Valley, a movie back in the 90s, this paper attempts to analyze the narrative strategies for the representation of national consciousness in the context of globalization, a consciousness formed on two different levels i.e., through the interaction between Han nationality and other Chinese minorities, and the interaction between China and West. It then aims to reveal the contradiction result from this multi-levelness in Chinese national articulation and to explore the structurality of multi-ethnicity in Chinese literature.
