简论翻译的艺术性

On the Theory of Art of Translation

翻译的科学性和艺术性的关系是辩证统一的,其艺术性主要体现在翻译的目的、翻译应使用的思维方式、翻译活动发展的过程、翻译成果的特点、社会对译作的承认和接受的方式等方面。针对译界现状,有必要强调翻译的艺术性。强调翻译的艺术性就是要强调重视翻译实践,因为只有翻译质量的全面提高才是翻译事业发展的硬道理。

The relation between the theories of science and art of translation is dialectical. The theory of art of translation is embodied in the purpose of translation, its thinking methods, the process of its development, the characteristics of the products of translation, the social acknowledgement and the ways of the acceptance of its fruit and so on. As far as the present conditions of translation are concerned, it is quite necessaryto emphasize the theory of art of translation. The emphasis on the theory of art of translation means emphasis on translation practice, for it is the overall improvement of translation qualitythat constitutes the hard core of the development of the translation undertakings.
