物理学不是一个完成的逻辑体系——从温伯格的一段话谈起

Physics is not a Finished Logical System--Starting with a Viewpoint of Weinberg

温伯格(S．Weinberg)在他的《引力论和宇宙论——广义相对论的原理和应用》一书的开篇，写下这样一段话：“物理学并不是一个已完成的逻辑体系。相反，它每时每刻都存在着一些观念上的巨大混乱，有些像民间史诗那样，从往昔英雄时代流传下来；而另一些则是像空想小说那样，从我们对于将来会有伟大的综合理论的向往中产生出来。”为什么温伯格会这样写呢?

The paper explains why physics is not a finished logical system. Instead it is an experimental science. It also points out that the paradox between the principle of special relativity and the cosmological principle, as well as the recent observations on dark matter and dark energy provide a huge challenge to physics in this century. The history of science indicates that this may imply a new breakthrough in science in near future.
