On the Strategic Position of Hainan Island During the Anti- Japanese War

日军侵入海南岛之后,在确保海南岛这一日军重要军事基地的“治安”的同时,还利用海南岛优越的地理位置,对周边地区施加影响;通过这些军事行动,反映了抗日战争中海南岛在日军的总体战略中作为封锁基地、“南进”基地和资源基地的突出地位。

Upon its invasion of Hainan Island during the War War II, the Japanese Army tried all means possible to ensure the 'public order' of the Island. Meanwhile, it undertook a series of military operations in an attempt to make full use of the Island as a base of blockade, 'southward expansion' and resources. All these show that Hainan Island occupied an outstanding position in the overall military strategy of Japanese aggressors during the period of time.
