In-hospital stroke is new-onset stroke occurring during hospitalization, accounting for 2%~17% of all strokes. Compared with community-onset stroke, patients with in-hospital stroke experienced more severe stroke and worse outcomes. Unlike community-onset stroke, where emergency procedures have been established and gradually standardized, perhaps due to the complexity of hospital practice and illness, there are more delays in the diagnose, assessment and treatment of in-hospital stroke, which may cause patients to miss the recanalization therapy.
