Over the past 20 years, the treatment for children with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia has changed fundamentally. This type of leukemia used to have a poor prognosis, but today cure rates have improved with the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as imatinib and dasatinib. However, there are still many controversies and challenges regarding the treatment of this disease.
