Recent Progress in Diagnosis and Treatment of Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

恶性胸膜间皮瘤(Malignant pleural mesothelioma, MPM)是一种少见的恶性肿瘤,主要是由于石棉暴露。恶性胸膜间皮瘤诊断和治疗具有挑战性。通过X线、CT、MRI、PET/CT、胸腔穿刺活检及血清学等检查,可正确诊断恶性胸膜间皮瘤。对于无法手术的患者培美曲塞联合铂类药物化疗是主要的治疗方法。本文主要阐释恶性胸膜间皮瘤的诊断及治疗最新进展。

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare malignant tumor, mainly due to the asbestos exposure. Diagnosis and treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma can be challenging. Malignant pleural mesothelioma can be correctly diagnosed by X-ray, CT, MRI, PET/CT, thoracic puncture biopsy and serology. The combination of pemetrexed and platinum-based chemotherapy is the main therapy for patients with inoperable cancer. In this paper, we summarize the recent advances in the diagnosis and therapy of malignant pleural mesothelioma.
