1970年以来,随着资本主义社会经济科技的迅猛发展,越来越多的人开始意识到,资本主义正在推动着生态环境的恶化,而我们却无法控制住它。考虑到这一问题将会成为未来社会的一重大议题,西方马克思主义流派中的生态学马克思主义者对此先后进行了生态学的思考和分析。乔尔·科威尔作为美国生态学马克思主义的代表人物,他一直积极参与绿色政治活动,曾经是美国绿党(GPUS)的领导人物。面对全球生态危机产生的原因,对未来理想社会的构想,以及如何实现生态社会主义等问题时,他提出了一系列较为合理的见解和主张。不仅丰富和发展了生态社会主义相关理论和思想,还促进了生态学马克思主义到生态社会主义的过渡。
Since 1970, with the rapid development of capitalist society, economy and technology, more and more people began to realize that capitalism is driving the deterioration of the ecological environment, but we can not control it. Considering that this issue will become a major social issue in the future, the ecological Marxists of western Marxist schools have made ecological thinking and analysis on this issue successively. As a representative of Ecological Marxism in the United States, Joel Kovel has been actively involved in green politics and was once a leader of the Green Party of America (GPUS). Faced with the causes of the global ecological crisis, the conception of the ideal society in the future, and how to realize ecological socialism, he put forward a series of reasonable opinions and propositions. It not only enriched and developed the theories and thoughts related to ecological socialism, but also promoted the transition from ecological Marxism to ecological socialism.
