With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, its role in society has become increasingly significant, giving rise to a multitude of philosophical questions. Memory serves as a foundational element in the evolution of AI and is crucial for both AI and humans. This paper examines the similarities and differences between AI and humans in terms of memory acquisition, storage, and utilization. In memory acquisition, both AI and humans form memories through learning, yet they differ in their objectives, processes, and methodologies. Regarding memory storage, AI relies on hardware, while humans depend on biological mechanisms, resulting in differences in storage mechanisms, effectiveness, and capacity. In memory utilization, both AI and humans employ memory to perform tasks and self-improve;however, AI has advantages in efficiency and safety, which also introduces ethical and social issues. Finally, the paper discusses the potential complementary relationship between AI and human memory, suggesting that AI can act as an external memory for humans, who in turn can provide oversight and management for AI, together facing the challenges of the information age.
