The movie, Fight Club shows the current state of people in a consumerist society. Firstly, People like Jack are trapped in a vicious cycle of over consumerism and overwork. Their lives are coupled with depression and boredom which causes them to eager to change. Later, they become conscious that the release of pressure through violence actually damages society, and they attain a new life through the awakening of the conscience at last. Based on the analysis of Freud’s theory called Personality Structure, this paper discovers that in the collision between the ego and the id, Jack stimulates the awakening of superego and wins the final fight. It shows that in the materialistic so-ciety, people are driven by the desire to lose themselves. Love and sense of belonging make them gradually clear about their true demands of hearts, the meaning of life and the value of existence. Ultimately, they learn to live in peace with social rules.
