A Review of the Impact of Social Class and Economic Inequality on Prosocial Behavior

经济不平等日益加重,导致社会阶层分化也日益严重。过去研究发现,社会阶层和亲社会行为关系呈负相关,高社会阶层会表现出更少的亲社会行为。但是,社会阶层和亲社会行为之间的关系并非绝对,而是存在一定的限定条件。例如,在不同的不平等环境下,社会阶层和亲社会行为之间的关系会有不一致的表现。进一步探讨经济不平等在社会阶层对亲社会行为影响中的作用,对拓展已有研究和关注道德缺失与贫富差距的现实是有现实意义的。

Increasing economic inequality has led to increasingly serious social stratification. Past research has found a negative correlation between social class and prosocial behavior, meaning individuals with high social status show less prosocial behavior. However, the relationship between social class and prosocial behavior is not absolute, and there are certain conditions. For example, in different unequal environments, the relationship between social class and prosocial behavior will be inconsistent. Further exploring the role of economic inequality in the impact of social class on prosocial behavior is of practical significance for expanding existing research and paying attention to the reality of moral deficiency and income gap.
