This study aims to explore the impact of school identity on college students’ sense of loneliness and its underlying mechanisms. A survey was conducted on 1622 college students using the School Identity Scale, Core Self Assessment Scale, and UCLA Loneliness Scale. The results indicate that: 1) loneliness is significantly correlated with school identity and core self-evaluation;2) School identity can not only directly and negatively predict the loneliness of college students, but also indirectly predict their loneliness through core self-evaluation;3) Core self-evaluation plays a partial mediating role between school identity and loneliness.
