激励理论是心理学领域的著名理论,将激励理论应用于高校思想政治教育能够有效地激发起大学生的积极性与主动性,提高其综合素养。思想政治教育者可以通过运用目标激励、兴趣激励、榜样激励和荣誉激励等激励方式提高思想政治教育的实效性。然而,激励理论在思想政治教育中的应用存在着不合理运用物质激励、激励方式缺乏针对性、激励时机缺乏及时性、激励效果缺乏持久性等问题。当前,需要进一步提升思想政治教育者的素质与能力,掌握和遵循激励的基本原则,完善激励的管理机制,营造良好的激励环境,从而优化激励法在思想政治教育中的应用。
